To Ian Tenby and birding-aus

Agree that the Cuckoos have returned. Saw two Pallids (and heard several
more), a Horsfields (upsetting a family of White-winged Fairy-wren with a
fully colored male) and a Black-eared on a short trip to the Meridian
Lakes west of Mildura yesterday. Actually I have seen Black-eared
Cuckoos right through winter this year but have only seen Pallids in last
two weeks or so.

Also can report that a male Koel was seen by many members of SUNBOC and
other local residents when it visited Gol Gol gardens for about eight
days in November 98, across the river about 4km from Mildura city. It
may not mean anything but the one seen in Hamilton was seen two days
after 'ours' was last heard at Gol Gol.
