David ... The NPA is not jumping on any bandwagon here. It has a well -established national park proposal for Goonoo and is totally supported in this wish by Dubbo Field Nats. We have conducted formal biodiversity surveys of the forest and have excellent information. Much of that work had the full support of NPWS people, Aust Museum people, field ecologists, etc. Good to warn the general birding population but the camapign is well sourced. Our arguments are within the context of a Western RACAC process within NSW and are in order to protect 15% of all forest types. NPA has a Western campaign. in conjunction with WWF, and looks forward to any support in can get.
