I've recently updated my rather archaic web page
     http://www.users.bigpond.com/ocoineoil/
to include a few more links, and a new section on surveying urban birds
around my home in Pascoe Vale South - a NW suburb of Melbourne (see
lat/long in sig block below!). It's still archaic, but now a little
bigger.
A couple of things ......
   * Can any of you recommend a non-commercial Tasmanian birding site
that I can add to my links section (that excludes tour operators,
venues, etc. and also things like the BA Raptor page which is based
     in Tassie)?
   * Is anyone interested in collaborating on a simple urban bird survey
project with me? See my page at
     http://www.users.bigpond.com/ocoineoil/sections/sbte.html to get
the general idea. I'm doing simple line transects of three street
frontages around my home (adding up to about 1.6-1.8 hectares in
18-22 minutes), with the intention of doing that 2-3 times a
month. It doesn't take long, will produce a snapshot of the
avifauna of my (or your) suburb for later publication, and of
course will slot nicely into the BA Atlas, as it conforms
reasonably well to the 20 minute/2 hectare survey.
Cheers
