A request for list-members.
As I have just done with Apostlebirds, I am now examining the status of
Speckled Warblers (Chthonicola sagittata) in south-east Australia,
particularly Victoria.
I invite observers to contact me directly with any observations of the
species which have NOT already been forwarded to the Atlas of Victorian
Wildlife or the new Atlas of Australian Birds.
I am particularly interested in all observations from Gippsland, where it
appears that the species is now only just hanging on. Also, any records
from south of the divide in Victoria are of interest.
Victorian bird Atlas data suggest that Speckled Warblers are contracting to
the north of the divide. Melbourne still has recent records, however.
If you have observations or opinions on the status of the species I am keen
to hear them.
