OK here is some from me. A whole group of BOCA members having lunch during a
christmas camp and having no idea what was making the whistle-plop noise
coming from the far side of a lake. It was of course a Musk Duck, I was
among the throng who hadn't twigged. Mistaking the call of a Dollarbird for
the call of a Brown Falcon (or was it the other way around). What about
mistakes from mimicry. About two years ago I heard a Wedge-tailed Eagle call
in my Kambah (southern Canberra) yard, when it was also a Sacred Kingfisher,
I knew it was neither, it was an Olive-backed Oriole.
