Sounds like our Sydney Beach Stone-curlew. It was pretty tame too. I watched
mob of teenagers walked 5-10 metres past the thing in the open and it did
not move. Amazing!!! It too looked it had fairly hard going nights (perhaps
someone saw it hanging around one of the night clubs in the city). Our Bush
Stone-curlews are however a bit more wary.
