Mike Carter last night passed on a report of Laughing Gull at Peterborough,
in western Vic. (between Port Campbell and Warrnambool, c. 200 km W of
Melbourne) It was found and photographed by Bob Hughes of Lismore,
Vic., and last seen at 1630 h, near the river mouth. The bird is in full
summer plumage and was even 'laughing'. If accepted (seems not much doubt
about it), this would be the second Vic. record.
