Can anyone help me with information on where Grass Owls can be seen in
coastal northern New South Wales?

I have read Sandra Maciejewski's article about her 1994 study (The Grass
Owl, Tyto capensis, in north-eastern New South Wales, Australian Raptor
Studies II, 54-70), and the subsequent article in Australian Birds (Debus,
Maciejewski and McAllen, The Grass Owl in New South Wales, Aust. Birds 31,
29-44). These articles suggest to me the best places are likely to be:

Newrybar Swamp, Lennox Head
Wardell area
Broadwater NP
Bundjalung NP

(I am more interested in sites around the southern part of their range than
the populations centred around Byron Bay - I will be based in Grafton when I
go up there).

Is anyone reading this able to give me more specific information on where to
look at these or other suitable sites in the area?

Sydney

PS - for anyone interested in owls, have a look at
