I also know the feeling. The 'easy' endemics are often the hardest to
find. When I visited Tassie I missed most of the endemics but did
manage to pick up an Aust Crake, but they were local to me in Ballarat
but I had never seen them there until after I had returned from my
Tassie sojourn.
Little Brown birds that never show up, have a special name in my Vocab.
