Our 25 year experience is that you don't exactly get rid of the sparrows,
mynahs and starlings, but at least the native birds get a bit of a go.

We planted up plenty of native veg, shrubs and trees, and sprayed out a lot
of lawn and woodchipped it. We now have plenty of variety in native birds
but the exotics haven't left, just stayed out a bit.
