On the issue of Sooty Owl populations, I have heard from somewhere that
there was an unconfirmed report in the past of one of the Sootys at
Eungella. I think that the bird was heard only. Would that have been a Sooty
or Lesser Sooty?. Has there been any confirmed sightings here?

>From my experience (have heard and seen both calling), Lesser Sooty Owls are
higher pitched in call but of course an actual sighting would be needed!
