birding-aus Just returning from a difficult visit to my fast-failing parents in SA, and camped a night by the Monoman Creek (an anabranch of the Murray) in the Chowilla section of the Bookmark Biosphere Reserve (north of the river, in far eastern SA). Against a fading pink-mauve sky, 20+ Regent Parrots flew to roost along the creek past us, and moments later a dozen more landed for a minute or so directly overhead. Not sure which event put which in perspective, but it seems to balance things a bit! Cheers Ian PS shall resume ACT Region Hotline highlights soon --- Ian Fraser, Canberra Environment Tours; Vertego Environmental Writing Consultancy GPO Box 3268, Canberra, ACT 2601 ph: 02 62491560 fax: 02 62473227 To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
