I think you will find your bird is a frog known as White-browed Chirper
(Sphenophryne pluvialis). This frog will call during the day particularly if
it is raining.
Once I thought I had recorded the sound of Pied Monarch in Julatten State
Forest and it turned to be Sphenophryne fryi. They both sound quite like a
reversing truck.
If you can get a sound recording and send it to me I can certainly let you
know what it is.
