I camped at Dead Horse Gully in Sturt NP near Tibooburra and there I saw
3 Cinnamon Quail-thrush on 1/7/95. I wrote in my notebook that they were
on bare stony ground with isolated bluebushes, and that two males were
having a dispute. Also camped at Olive Downs one night but didn't see
any quail-thrush there.
According to "The Birds of Western New South Wales: A Preliminary Atlas"
published by the NSW Bird Atlassers in 1995, in north-western NSW the
Cinnamon extends right up to the Qld border and as far east as 142
degrees 20 mins, while the Chestnut-breasted is found further east,
extending from 143 degrees 50 mins to 146 degrees. From this data I
assume it would only be the Cinnamon in Sturt.
