Like yourself and Tom Tarrant I agree that the program is just about the
best avian wildlife presentation I've seen for ages. I also agree with Tom
about all of us making mistakes...

Current authorties (eg Christidis & Boles, Harrison, Higgins & Davies,
Pringle, etc.)refer to the bird in question as White Tern; White Noddy, (as
also Love Tern, Lover Tern, Common White Tern, Little White Tern, Atlantic
Tern, Cocos Fairy-Tern, Pacific Tern and White Bird) is an alternative
suggested by some. Even Pizzey, in his new edition, now conforms with the
"tern" rather than "noddy" appellation.
While on Lord Howe, back in Easter '96, a number of the locals referred to
the bird as a "Fairy Tern" - an alternative suggested by some (eg Harrison).
