Mike Carter has just informed me that a South Island Pied Oystercatcher has
been seen near Ballina, n. NSW, by Bo Totterman and Greg Clancy. It has
been around since November but unpublicised until now due to fears about
disturbance.

It was seen yesterday (16/1/99) at Broadwater, about 15km south-west of
Ballina.

Happy twitching.
