Today a birdwatching friend told me that
on 3rd January '99, he saw a
pair of Plumheaded Finches in roadside eucalypts next to the 'Glen Erin'
winery at Lancefield. He described them in detail. (He has since gone
back to Brisbane).
Too hot and too busy to drive up and check on this today so I'm putting
it up in case anyone likes to try to confirm it.
According to Pizzey, they do occasionally occur in western Vic. as
vagrants. They are not as far as I know very popular with
aviculturists.
I'd like to know if anyone else has seen them, or can find them.
