Immature Green Catbirds are similarly coloured to adults. They can,
however, be identified as immature on iris colour: brown as distinct from
red. The iris colour changes gradually. My banding data is at home
(banded quite a few in NSW) but from memory firsts out of the nest 12
months are still readily separated from adults in the hand using iris
colour.

Have you considered Satin Bowerbird, although your description doesn't
really fit this species either, or Regent Bowerbird.

Not a lot of help I know.
