These proposals seem to be converging with the aims of the Atlas of
Australian Birds project.  Perhaps it makes sense then to have frequent
location-specific Twitchathons (or call them intensive surveys!), and maybe
these mini-Twitchathons are something that the Atlas team could take an
interest in, and offer some coordinating advice (eg. which areas are lacking
data, or which times of year are a bit lean).
