There was, for some years, a leucistic Blackbird, nearly all white with a
few small black spots (a melanistic whitebird?), that lurked around the
main drive of Melbourne Zoo.  I haven't seen him for a while, but there is
still at least one other male Blackbird with white patches at the Zoo, so I
presume he managed to get the girls and pass his genes on.
