Hi Lawrie,
I thought that I would continue the Twitchathon comment since no one
else took up your challaenge as I am aware. The Central Coast Champions
(Alan Morris, Stephen Edwards & Craig Arms) have had team in the
Twitchathon for NSW since the beginning and have come second twice, but
were only 7th last year! This could be primarily because their leader,
who is getting on in years, likes to return to his own bed on the
Saturday night, none of this driving and spotlighting all night for him!
However with a new 4WD and shit hot spotlighter ( I hope), an over-night
stay up country is planned! Unfortunately a preliminary look around has
revealed few of the western migrants close into the Tablelands
(Woodswallows, Songlarks, Trillers etc), and few waterbirds despite lots
of water. Presumably these waterbirds are out in the Gingham
Watercourse, The Macquarie Marshes etc and not around the Upper Hunter.
As usual we will finish at the Shortland Wetland Centre where we are
usually crushed by the Hunter Thickheads and others! Hopefully David
Geering will be kept in Victoria and we therefore might have less of a
handicap! If anyone has any spare cash out therefore sponsorship
purposes, the Central Coast Champions could be just as good as any other
group to launder your money through!!
