Dear Birding-Aus,

I have just received a wall clock for my birthday that has pictures of
birds instead of numbers. It emits a call for each hour from 0600-2100hrs.
Unfortunatey the birds are of European origin (I think!) and the names
under each picture are the Latin names. Could someone help me out with the
common names? I can guess at a few.
Here they are;

        1 Ficedula narcissina, 2 Cyanoptila cyanomelana, 3 Erithacus akahlge, 4
Terpsiphone atrocaudata, 5 Emberiza sulphurata, 6 Parus major, 7 Cuculus
canorus (Cuckoo sp?), 8 Tarsicer cyanurus, 9 Turdus chrysolaus, 10 Cettia
diphone, 11 Zosterops japonica(White-eye?), 12 Emberiza cioides, 13 Cuculus
pollocephalus, 14 Parus montanus, 15 Prunella collaris, 16 Eophonas

Thank You,

Jim Reside
