28th JUNE 1998 WOLLONGONG PELAGIC TRIP REPORT

Departed at 7.15 am and returned at 5.00 pm.
0.5M swell decreasing later, Winds Variable and light SSW t in the
afternoon. Headed North from Wollongong harbour towards Bulli
Reaching shelf 21 Nautical Miles E of the nearby coast.
Water temperature 16.0 Degrees C.

Those on Board,
Chris Brandis, Kevin Cronin, Rachel Cronin, Liz Ferguson, Richard
Johnstone, David Koffel, Pete Milburn, Floyd Murdoch, Tony Palliser, Colin
Richardson, Lindsay Smith, Ron Vanderwart, Jill Warner.

The shelf appeared fairly quiet, however the vast numbers of Fairy Prion
and Fluttering Shearwaters in shore certainly made up for this. The Prions
being particularly cooperative allowing ideal photographic opportunities.
Apparently there are prions in large numbers from Wollongong to areas North
of Sydney at present which is in complete contrast to other more recent
years. A great trip but we could not match the breathtaking trip from WA.

stopped at: 34.19'- 151.04', 34.26' - 151.08'.
