Hello Birding-ausers

I am compiling information on some important wetlands in
Victoria for listing in A Directory of Important Wetlands
in Australia.

I have built up a good-sized list of waterbirds for
Mallacoota Inlet but I don't have much information about
waterbird (and rare species such as Ground Parrot and
Eastern Bristlebird) use of Howe Flat and Lake Barracoota.
Can anyone help with interesting records in the
Mallcoota-Lake Barracoota area (particularly of the above
mentioned species as well as Striated Heron/Mangrove
Bittern, Black Bittern and Beach Stone-curlew)? Also, I am
unsure if Kelp Gull, Osprey or Reef Egret have ever been
seen within Mallacoota Inlet.

I would greatly appreciate any information on the
waterbirds of the Sydenham and Tamboon Inlets as well.

Please send any replies direct to me- I can provide a draft
waterbird list for the locations I have mentioned if that
would help.

Thanks

George
