HAWKESBURY AREA, NSW - 19TH APRIL 1998

Yesterdays highlights in the Hawkesbury area were as follows :

1) Mitchell Park (Cattai) - Grey Goshawk (grey-phase), Azure Kingfisher,
many Rose Robins and 2 Chestnut-rumped Heathwrens.

2) Scheyville National Park - Golden Bronze Cuckoo, another Azure Kingfisher
and some Speckled Warblers.

3) McGraths Hill STW - 10 Red-kneed Dotterels, 35 plus Australasian
Shovelers, 3 Pink-eared Ducks, 2 Hardheads and a Double-banded Plover.

4) Windsor-Richmond Turf Farms - Sub-adult Spotted Harrier (one of my
favourite raptors and seen in the paddock opposite the orchard off
Cornwallis Rd at Windsor), few Brown Quail and King Quail (heard), 7 Banded
Lapwing's (at the Billabong Turf Farm off Cornwells Rd) and a Singing
Bushlark.

Many Dusky Woodswallows were still about at Mitchell Park and Scheyville,
and the usual Yellow-faced and White-naped Honeyeaters aswell as Silvereyes
were passing through.

A enjoyable and relaxing day with 113 species seen or heard in the region.
