Question.
Are the "parrot breeders" from Germany (who are also birdwatchers) people
that Birding-Aus should support? Should Birding-Ausers put them into
contact with "parrot-breeders' here?
Isn't "parrot-breeding" sometimes about putting wild birds in cages.... A
recent polemic by Laurie Conole suggested Birding-Aus was concerned with
observing birds in the wild.
It is dangerous to make moral judgements given poor information and I
don't. It may be that the German parrot breeders are conservationists
breeding rare parrots for noble reasons. The Healseville sanctuary do the
same for Orange-bellied parrots. I therefore make no judgement -- I simply
ask a question about an issue that I think should be resolved before
assistance is offered.
