Birds Australia NQ Group and the Qld Dept of Environment welcome all to Hasties Swamp National Park at 0830h, Saturday Feb 1998 for a LIST LAUNCH. We've prepared (in cooperation with DoE) the first ever list for this small but very popular NQ birdwatching site (193 species). PROGRAM: 0830 meet, 0845 intro, 0850 John Clarkson (Birds Australia & DoE botanist) - wetland conservation & cyclical patterns, 0855 launch by veteran Atlasser and Senior Ranger Arthur Sellers, 0900 birdwatching (yes, it is wet but with 2 weeks of dry weather some muddy edges are appearing...) The list will be available AT THE LAUNCH OR AFTER 28TH FEB from the Cairns & Lake Eacham offices of DoE. New sightings can be reported to: DoE Eacham District, PO BOX 21 Yungaburra Qld 4872 PLEASE document unusual or rare sightings, they will be referred if appropriate to the QOSI or Birds Australia Committees Hope to meet some birding-aus faces on the day Regards Elinor Scambler |
