Boonooroo south of Maryborough, Qld, is an excellent wader hightide roost. I do counts there on a fairly regular basis. This morning Eric Zillmann & myself had 22 wader species including 3 Asian Dowitchers. There was a single dowitcher there on the 13th Nov 97. It's worth a look if any birders are passing through but be forewarned, there were 3,000 Bar-tailed Godwits & 380 Great Knot there too! Happy birding. Chris Barnes (Bundaberg) |
