I have received a personal comment regarding a thunderstorm with heavy
hail west of Mildura on Tuesday 11/11/97.

It was reported to me that "crows and magpies were killed by the golf
ball sized hail".

Can anyone confirm this?

Questions: How do birds survive large hail storms?
Are there any studies on the mortality rates of birds
in storms?

Trevor Hampel.
