On 2 November 1997 I called upon fellow bird researchers to contribute to
the 1997 Directory of Australian Bird Research Projects. The closing date
for contributions is the 5 January 1998. Until then, I will provide you
with weekly updates of who has contributed information to the directory.

By 5 pm on Sunday, 9 November 1997 I had received responses from the
following researchers:

Andrew Burbidge (WA Department of Conservation & Land Management)
Andrew Cockburn (Australian National University)
Alan Danks (WA Department of Conservation and Land Management)
Stephen Davies (Murdoch University)
Hugh Ford (University of New England)
Graham Martin (University of Western Australia)
Clive Minton (Victorian Wader Studies Group)
Ursula Munro (Sydney University of Technology)
Stephen Ambrose (Birds Australia)

Many thanks to these early birds! I look forward to receiving information
from others over the next few weeks. Remember that your project
descriptions should use the following headings:

1. Project Title.
2. Chief Investigators.
3. Host Institution(s).
4. Optional Project Description (up to 50 words).
5. Time-scale (including starting and finishing dates).
6. Funding Agency(ies).
7. Contact Telephone Number.
8. Contact Facsimile Number.
9. Email Address.

Australia home page at <>.
