This species reached New Guinea and is a regular in Wallacea according to
my nice new Birds of Wallacea but presumably though the chestnut bellied fo
rm philippensis. It does like rocky coastlines , breakwaters and harbours ,
so a ship assisted passage would be highly credible IMHO.
One of the blue bellied forms certainly reaches well inland in Spain for
example.
