Good advice above for both the Slender-billed Thornbill & the Striated
Grasswren, though Hattah-Kulkyne is a good spot for the Mallee Emu-wren.
Around "The Springs" on the Murrayville Track (Big Desert Wilderness
area of Wyperfeld NP) is also good for these species.  The Murrayville
Track (in the south starts at Yanac near Nhill, goes through to
Murrayville in the north) is passable by 2WD, although it has bad sand
drifts in parts, & particularly so after a prolonged dry spell.
