To all I have heard of these rumours before, and if they are true, I hope that those sensless non-birdo's involved are punished. Edwin ---------- From: birding-aus-owner[SMTP: Sent: Thursday, 25 September 1997 21:10 To: birding-aus Subject: Shot Wanderer I heard a rumour today that a Wandering Albatross was shot by fisherman off Sydney. Apparrenty this was witnessed by birders on a pelagic. I'm wondering if this was the same bird described by Roger McGovern in his report on a recent trip but I spoke to a friend who was on the trip and nothing was said about it being shot. Is this the same bird or are we talking about something completely different? Apparently NPWS is taking this very seriously but can anybody shed any more light on this story.
