Get in early .....

Please consider my worthy team, the Common Driving-Petrolheads, for your
sponsorship dollar in the 1997 Birds Australia Twitchathon!!

(Either that or muster a team yourself & get out there amongst the
Spring birds.)

We've been in a rut the last 2 years with totals of 158 and 159, but
this year we've planned it to the n-th degree and hope to get at least
another 20 species on top of that. Our route will start at a secret
location somewhere between Bendigo and Echuca, & wend its way down
through central Victoria, over towards Lorne, down & around the Geelong
area, and back through the obligatory Werribee Farm before cruising in
to the Zoo to take first prize (joke). So at $0.20 a species, you'd
only be up for about $30-$40, and it all goes to a good cause (this year
it's the Black-eared Miner - that most controversial & rarest of
mainland Oz birds!!).

Come on Birding-Ausers, tell us about your teams, or pledge your
monies!!
