Selamat pagi ozbirders (good morning) Some friends & I are off to Sulawesi and Halmahera in eastern Indonesia in 1998 (some will have seen previous mail on that topic). One thing none of the guide books, including the new Coates & Bishop field guide, mention is whether or not there is a lekking season for the Standardwing Bird of Paradise (or Wallace's Standardwing _Semioptera wallacii_) on Halmahera. Is this bird's libido so awesome that it leks year round, or does it take an occasional break? Any knowledgeable types out there have an answer?
