I am currently looking at the effect of bird movement
on estimates of population densities.

To complete this work I need a range of typical flight
speeds for Australian birds. If you have any records
of the speed of flight of any Australia birds can you
please send these to me.

I am also interested in observations of daily movement
of Australian bird species. For example, Eastern
Rosellas spend the early morning in a roost tree,
move to the ground to feed during mid morning, around
mid-day they return to the tree tops, afternoon is
spent on the ground foraging again before heading back
to the tree tops to roost. Observations of this
sort would be particularly useful.
