Apart from that, after repeated exposure to leech bites some people
develop a sensitivity. I was very blasé about them in my youth but now
find that their bites cause an almost intolerable itch that lasts for
about three days. My advice is to avoid developing this sensitivity at
all costs but if you do, and subsequently get bitten, DONT SCRATCH!
