Dion Hobcroft called me today to let me know that the Erect-crested Penguin at the Twelve Apostles is still present. Although he went on to say that it does remain hidden for long periods at a time. Coming out of the vegetation once or twice each morning and afternoon. It was seen yesterday (Monday the 3rd March) and is reported to still be in heavy moult so is likely to stay a little longer yet. This must be the most viewed penguin in the world? What with the hundreds of Birders and thousands of tourists that have managed to see it so far. I haven't heard anything about the Royal Penguin, although from what people are telling me it must still be present given the state of moult that it was in on the weekend.
