Hi all,

Tom Smith and I went for the ECP @ Port Campbell yesterday. Don't
panic. We got there at just after 5pm and the bird had flown, so to
speak. Sean Dooley arrived about half an hour before us and had
looked pretty thoroughly in all the nooks and crannies to no avail.
He also checked Loch Ard Gorge fruitlessly.

Not much else to report: watched a Kestrel hassling starlings along
the cliffs (yay!); muttonbirds gathering in the offing; Blue-winged
Parrots along the road to Port Campbell; crippling Rufous
Bristlebirds at Loch Ard car park; stunning White Goshawk along the
road to Cobden.

Does anyone have any information about another penguin in the
Portland area? Only rumours at this stage.

Tom and I successfully twitched the King Penguin on Bruny Island last
Wednesday. A great twitch. Does anyone know if it's still there?

Good birding,

David Andrew
