I went to Pittown this afternoon to check its condition after of week of
rain in Sydney. It is certainly very full, with the water out past the
fences on the northern boundary. However, there is still plenty of
birdlife on lagoon. I saw 3 Pactoral Sandpipers with 5 Sharp tailed
Sandpipers, I was able to get very close views and clearly differentiate
the two species. Also got very good views of Clamorous Reed Warblers in
the reeds at he eastern end of the lagoon. Another interesting sighting
was a Peregrine Falcon.
