Hi all,

Some noteworthy (I think!) sightings of mine recently, all in the Perth
environs:

White-necked Heron - 10, 29/12/96, Forrestdale Lake (uncommon in the
south-west but regular visitors to this lake in most years during summer)

Great Egret - 1 bird with wing tag marked "KZ", 4/1/97, Forrestdale Lake
(sighting reported to ANCA)

Australian Spotted Crake - 2, 4/1/97, reedbeds in Thomson's Lake

Whiskered Tern - ca 12, 4/1/97, Thomson's Lake (uncommon in south-west)

Elegant Parrot - at least 3, 11/1/97, vicinity of Nicholson & Gibbs road
junction, in degraded banksia scrub

Long-toed Stint - 3, 12/1/97, Kojalup Lake

Pectoral Sandpiper - 3 possibly 4, 12/3/97, Kojalup Lake ( 1 bird seen in
comparison with another was distinctly smaller and the yellow on the bill
more extensive - juv?)

Kim
