I note a headline in The Age (Melbourne), 1st edn, 9 December 1996: 'Three
Magpies Charged by Police After Struggle'.

Now I know that swooping by magpies is a problem, and that they do tend to
resist any attempts to interfere with them, but surely it is not so serious
a problem as to justify the involvement of the police and the courts.
