White-browed Woodswallows are in town

One of the advantages of living on top of a hill in Geelong is that when
the hot northerly winds start, flocks of White-browed Woodswallows (plus
the odd Masked W/s) come down from north of the Great Dividing Range, and
soar around overhead.  Some years a few stay in bush around Geelong to
breed, but mostly they go back north on the southerly cool change. 

This morning at 7:30 am when I stepped outside to head to work, the first
thing I heard was woodswallows (over the din of Greenfinches, Song Thrush
and New Holland Honeyeaters!).  There were about 50-60 White-browed
Woodswallows soaring around just above rooftop level.  Not bad for an
inner city morning.
