I have Noisy Miners nesting in a Red Gum tree in our back yard . They
have swooped a few times when I was within 3m of the nest as they were
feeding their young. I think their behaviour is playful more than anything.
I haven't actually been hit. ( The Hills-Hoist was my protection. If they
get any closer I may have to start revolving it. )
They often dive-bomb our Zebra finches & Budgies in our Avairy just
for the excitement of scaring them.
I saw a young English Black-bird fledgling in our yard last evening,
I'm not sure what I would have done if I had caught it.
The Boxer next door has eaten a few young Spotted Turtle-doves in the
past. ( Not through my doing , they simply fell out of the Photinia tree
next door. )

        Peter.
