Hi all,

Some Asian hornbills (Bucerotidae) which have flight feathers which are
naturally white, preen them using the  yellowish oil gland. The oil
oxidises in the air and the feathers turn reddish-brown. Feathers of some
heron species are also reported to become discoloured in this way.
