Merry Christmas to all birding-aus chatters. I've had a good year and it
isn't over yet. I'm heading to Cairns for Christmas- New Year so who
knows what goodies I can see?

Best Aussie sightings were a Grey Noddy on the first Sydney boat trip on
23/4, an Australian Bittern feeding in a paddock beside Gilleston Lagoon
on 25/4, three Bush Thick Knees beside the road on the Central Coast, and
a flock of six Ground Cuckoo Shrikes in the Pillaga Scrub in October.

Best overseas birds were Schlegel's and Velvet Asitys and all the Ground
Rollers in Madagascar.

Year's total so far: 455
