Dear colleagues,
We are delighted to invite expressions of interest from institutions and organisations interested in hosting the World Ecoacoustics Congress (WEC) 2028.
WEC has become a premier forum for bringing together researchers, practitioners, students, and industry partners working across ecoacoustics, bioacoustics, acoustic monitoring, conservation, and related disciplines. As our community continues to grow, we are
excited to identify a host that can provide an inspiring venue and foster a memorable and inclusive congress experience in 2028.
To be considered, prospective hosts are asked to submit a ~350-word summary outlining their proposal. The summary should include:
(1) Hosting institution(s) and key partner organisations
(2) Proposed city and venue/location
(3) Potential organising committee, including key personnel and their roles
(4) Previous experience on organizing national or international conferences and workshops
(5) Any unique opportunities, strengths, or vision for WEC 2028
We encourage submissions from all regions and welcome proposals that reflect the diversity, creativity, and collaborative spirit of the global ecoacoustics community.

The chosen proposal will be announced to the wider community at the WEC 2026 ISE General Assembly and will be asked to present a brief overview of the destination at the meeting. Participation at the General Assembly can be done online.
