Dear List-manager,

Could you please post this to the bioacoustics List?

Thanks and best wishes,

Dear Bioacoustics-List,

We cordially inviting contributions to npj acoustics (part of npj Series) which is currently welcoming submissions to a new collection on “Polar Acoustics”.

This Collection aims to foster a deeper understanding of the acoustic environments in polar regions, their implications for biodiversity and conservation efforts and future guidelines and pathways for sustainable development and adaptation to climate change. Research contributions are invited that delve into the acoustic properties of the polar regions, both Arctic and Antarctic, the propagation of sounds in different environments and the effects of the changing climate. Baseline soundscapes and their changes, present and future, are of particular interest, notably for biodiversity and sustainable adaptations.

Submission Deadline: 22 Feb 2027
See https://www.nature.com/collections/gfdagjjhge for more details.

On behalf of the guest editors,
