Dear colleagues,
We are glad to open this (rare) Research & Teaching tenure (life) position in Bio-Acoustics & AI. It is opening in Sept. at Toulon University, France. The application must be submitted by the 3rd of April.
Please forward to whom it may concern, thanks a lot.
Sincerely,
Hervé Glotin - Univ. Toulon, LIS. Dir. Int. Center of AI for Natural Acoustics
** Research profile **
The Computer Science and Systems Laboratory LIS ( https://www.lis-lab.fr/), is a research unit of Aix-Marseille University, CNRS, University of Toulon, and Centrale Méditerranée. It is structured into 4 scientific divisions
comprising 20 research teams. The Data Science (SD) division federates activities in machine learning, from fundamental aspects to applications. The objective of this recruitment
is to strengthen these themes within the DYNI team :
-
Candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to develop
-
Research in AI on annotated or unannotated data for natural bio-acoustic
-
Signal processing (source separation / tracking, classification, wave-based models...).
-
She/he is expected to conduct research in the Internat. Center for Artificial Intelligence in Natural Acoustics (CIAN):
https://cian.lis-lab.fr/
** Teaching profile **
The successful candidate will be appointed to the Dpt of Computer Science to strengthen the educational offerings in Artificial Intelligence (AI) across several degree programs, Bachelor’s and master's levels. This profile involves fostering interdisciplinary
outreach toward:
-
Master in Complex Systems Engineering: to reinforce skills in reinforcement learning, AI applied to bioacoustics and robotics
-
Master in Materials Science: "AI and Materials" option dedicated to machine learning with industrial network as Naval Group
-
The successful candidate will play a leading role in the AI transformation of engineering sciences
-
International experience and the ability to teach in English, and to lead projects, would be appreciated
