Dear Colleagues,

(Apologies for cross-posting!)

We would like to invite you to a session Sven Gasteur, Annebelle Kok, and myself are convening at the 2026 Ocean Sciences Meeting in Glasgow, OT019 - Sound Insights: Advancing Understanding of Mid- to High-Trophic Dynamics through Acoustic Observations.

We are looking for contributions that put acoustics (active and/or passive) at the center, ideally combined with other approaches, such as optics, genetics, remote sensing, modeling, or biogeochem, etc. to build a more complete picture of marine ecosystems. We believe that OSM provides a great opportunity to showcase and promote the use of acoustic techniques for ecosystem monitoring in combination with other technologies.

We hope to have contributions from different regions of the world, though recognizing the event location puts a limit on these things. OSM does support remote presentation, so hopefully that is helpful.

Abstract deadline: 23:59 EDT / 03:59 UTC on 20 August 2025

Here the link to submit an abstract

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for questions.

Hope to see you there!

Wu-Jung
